David Zwirner seeks a Facilities Manager for immediate hire. All candidates should be highly organized self-starters, with a strong emphasis on aesthetics and a sensitivity around fine art. Relevant experience with light construction, custodial work, and general maintenance is required. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of comparable experience, preferably at an art institution or a commercial gallery.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Oversee repairs and maintenance of all 19th St. gallery locations.
  • Daily cleaning of all public and private exhibition spaces.
  • Responsible for all opening and closing duties as they pertain to building security and facilities.
  • Schedule and manage third-party cleaning staff.
  • Monitor and review relevant invoices.
  • Oversee construction and demolition; scissor lift and dumpster rental.
  • Assist Exhibition teams during planning and installation stages; coordinate w/ third party vendors / contractors accordingly.
  • Attend select after hours gallery openings and special events.
  • Order all necessary supplies (e.g., janitorial, paints, tools, hardware).
  • Assist with special projects, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle a high volume of projects with speed and accuracy
  • Must be a proactive team player

Position hours are 5 days a week, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Candidate will occasionally need to work additional hours. Only qualified candidates will be contacted. Absolutely no calls or walk-ins please.
